Is it free to try out Cowork Unite?

Yes! Cowork Unite is the community management tool and promotion network for coworking spaces, professionals, and hiring companies. It is free to use our standard services to post portfolios, spaces, and events.

 

How does Cowork Unite promote me?

Cowork Unite connects freelancers with clients looking to hire, coworking spaces, and networking events. For coworking spaces, you can post your space, list your members, jobs and events at your space.  For professionals looking for work, we allow you to promote your services by creating a portfolio on the website to gain more clients. When creating a portfolio on the Cowork Unite website, we allow those that are seeking a professional a way to connect with a freelancer who best fits their needs. Additionally, we do promote freelancers via social media websites and at trade show events we attend.

 

What personal information of job posters will be given to professionals?

All personal information is kept private until professionals decide to ‘send a quote’ and contact a job poster. Creative professionals will have access to client’s contact info, once they apply for the job. Some information will be kept private if opted to by the client. To change your privacy settings, login and go to the 'Account Details' section.

 

What personal information of professionals will be given to job posters?

All personal information of professionals is kept private and no personal information is revealed to the job posters unless opted to by the professional. To change your privacy settings, login and go to 'Account detail' section.

 

Am I notified when a coworking freelance professional has been chosen for the job? And will I be notified if I’m not selected?

Since we do not see the emails sent to job posters, we currently do not have a way to inform people when a person has been chosen for the job and when the job has closed. We encourage job posters to please inform freelance professionals when a decision has been made regarding a job.

 

How safe are the online transactions?

Online transactions with Google checkout are very safe. Google takes the privacy of your information seriously. Your payment information and shipping addresses can be saved in your Google Account to make future purchases more convenient and secure.

We guarantee that:

-Your account information is stored on our secure servers.
-Your purchase information is encrypted during transmission with industry-standard SSL (secure socket layer) technology.
-Google does not share your full credit card number with sellers.
-Google will not disclose personally identifiable information about your purchase history to advertisers or merchants.
-Sellers may have access to your address and/or telephone number, as necessary to complete your transaction.
-For certain transactions, sellers may require access to your telephone number. If we share your telephone number with a seller, we will display a notification message under Billing Information and Privacy before you submit your purchase.
-At this time, it is not possible to edit or delete items from your purchase history. We hope this section of your account will serve as a useful record of all your online purchases.

 

Are purchases that are made on Cowork Unite tax deductable?

Currently we are not set up as a nonprofit organization, so purchases are not considered a tax deductible donation. However, we do offer optional suggested pricing for our services.

How do I create an account?

You may create an account by selecting join link located at in the top right corner.

 

How do I change the personal professional information on my account?

Log in to your account. Go to edit professional portfolio. From there you can change your information.

 

I forgot my password. What should I do?

On the login page, click on the link below the information field that says forgot password. Your password will be reset and sent to the email address that you are registered with.

 

How do I delete my account?

If you would like to delete your account please contact us through our contact page and request that your account be deleted.

 

Will there be any expiry date to my account?

No, there is no expiration date on your account.

How do I add a space?

Click on the portfolios menu then select add a space. Another way to add a portfolio is by clicking on the join link located at in the top right corner and then select “I own a shared space and would like to post my space.".

 

How do I get my space featured on the page 1 of the browse portfolio page?

In order to be featured you must be logged in, select 'my account', 'my spaces', and then click on the 'shopping cart icon' to purchase. Select the 'Advanced' option to purchase.

 

How can I be featured on the homepage of the website?

In order to be featured you must be logged in, select 'my account', 'my spaces', and then click on the 'shopping cart icon' to purchase. Select the 'Premium' option to purchase.

How do I create a Portfolio?

Click on the portfolios menu then select add portfolio. Another way to add a portfolio is by clicking on the join link located at in the top right corner and then select “I'm looking for work and would like to post my professional portfolio".

 

How do I start adding images to my portfolio?

On the edit professional portfolio page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on ‘Add logo’ to add a logo, ‘Add header image’ to add your image used as your profile picture, and ‘Add more’ to add additional pictures.  After you have uploaded your pictures make sure to push the ‘update’ button.  


 

How do I change the order of the images in my gallery?

At this point, the only way to change the order of the images in the gallery is to delete them and upload them again.

 

Why does my photo cropped look strange?

The photo you used my be larger or smaller than what Cowork Unite accepts. Try resizing the photo, then uploading the re-sized photo to your Cowork Unite account.

 

What is the maximum number of images I can upload to my gallery?

Currently there is no maximum.

 

How can I increase my portfolio exposure?

You can increase your portfolio exposure by having it featured on the first page of the browse portfolios page! We sometimes feature professionals we are impressed with, but to guarantee that your portfolio gains notoriety on the website you can pay $30 a month to have it featured on the first page of the browse portfolios section.

 

How do I get my portfolio featured on the page 1 of the browse portfolio page?

How do I add a job?

Click on the jobs menu then select add a job. Another way to add a portfolio is by clicking on the join link located at in the top right corner and then select “I'm hiring and would like to post my job."

How do I quote on a job that does not have an accurate budget for the amount of work?

We encourage freelancers to quote on a job based on getting paid fairly. If the budget of the job is not fair and too low for the amount of work we suggest contacting the client to explain why their budget is unrealistic for the amount of work and propose an alternative budget or alternate job scope.

 

What if I do not like any of the quotes I get on a job?

If you do not like any of the quotes that you get on your job then we suggest that you continue searching for the quote you desire and we suggest increasing your budget.

 

If I am not paid on time for the job I completed, what can I do?

This is a matter that you and the client handle outside of the realms of Cowork Unite. Please notify Cowork Unite about your problem so we can put an alert on this client.

 

How do I get payment once I have completed the job?

This is a matter that you and the client handle outside of the realms of Cowork Unite.

 

Is there any way to quote on a job even if it is closed?

No. Unfortunately there is no way to quote (or offer a trade) on a closed job. Cowork Unite limits the number to 6 bids on most jobs. We do this so it is fair for the creative professional. Also, job posters also get confused if they get more than 6 quotes from freelancers. Plus it helps cut down on spam.

 

How do I remove my job if I am not happy with the bids I received?

Please send an inquiry on the contact page to remove your job.

 

How does Cowork Unite assign professionals to the job I posted?

Cowork Unite does not assign professionals to jobs directly. Professionals choose to receive emails for jobs that is in their field of interest.

 

What if I receive no quotes on my job?

Be patient! Sometimes it takes some time for creative professionals to generate a quote that best suits the jobs requirements. If the job expires and you do not receive a quote, you may increase the budget of your job and post it again. To re-post your job please contact us.

 

What if the estimate I receive for my job is for one price and then the freelancer charges a higher price in person?

This is a matter that you and the client handle outside of the realms of Cowork Unite. We simply give you the connection between you and the client.

How much does it cost to post an event?

At this point it is free.

 

What types of events are usually posted?

A large spectrum of events are posted ranging from cocktail partie, networking events and art shows.
